MWPS Closed

It is clear that we are facing a severe and widespread weather event, with heavy rain warnings, associated flooding, high winds and power outages. After careful consideration of all available information, including updated advice from the Ministry of Education and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). MWPS Board of Trustees has made the decision to close school for onsite learning tomorrow Monday 13th February and Tuesday 14th February. The safety of our students and staff are paramount.

 

Please keep checking our MWPS website, Facebook and Class Dojo pages for further updates. All going well we intend to reopen on Wednesday 15th February.

In the meantime, please stay safe and follow the emergency advice from NEMA detailed below:

• prepare for road closures in impacted areas

• prepare for power outages in impacted areas

• do not wait for an evacuation order to move to safety

• secure any loose items

• clear stormwater drains

• avoid unnecessary travel
