Term 4: Week 3

Fakafeiloaki MWPS Kāiga

This year’s theme for Te Vaiaho o te Gagana Tokelau is “Ke Olatia ko ia Tokelau i tana Fakavae – Tokelau to Prosper Within its Foundation”. The theme for Tokelau Language Week 2023 builds upon the 2022 focus, ‘Halahala ki vavau kae ke mau ki pale o Tokelau.’ The overarching message is clear: understanding the past is crucial for planning the future.

Week 3 Reminders:
-Spotlight on Values: Pride
Giving your all and striving to be your best, are all key in developing a sense of pride. Pride means being proud of the person you are. Being proud of your mahi, how you handle yourself, how you treat others and how you mix with other people. This is a big deal. MWPS encourages our learners to stand tall in their mana, to celebrate themselves, their culture and whānau. Have a chat as a family this week about pride and what it means in your kaingā. What are you proud about as a family? What are your family goals? How are you working together to achieve them?
-Our grace period of getting sunhats sorted for Term 4 is now over. Sunhats are compulsory for all
learner and must be worn everyday. These can be purchased from the MWPS Office for $15.
