Week Ahead: Term 2 Week 2

Talofa lava MWPS Aiga,

What an exciting and eventful week we had last week. Talk about the term starting with a bang! We were thrilled to showcase our amazing learners and host the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education. A very special moment, indeed. Our MWPS Book Blast continues this week and we look forward to our annual character dress-up day on Friday. This is such a highlight on our school calendar and we can not wait to see what our tamaiti (children) dress up as. How many of our reading challenges have you completed in class so far? At the dinner table this week, talk as aiga (family) about your favourite stories. What did you love to read as a child? Remember reading to children is the single most important thing you can do to support learning achievement.

Week 2 Reminders:
-Our Heart Word House Competition continues this week. Keep practising your heart words at home this is a great chance to earn huge points for your House!
-This week is also New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) Week. This is a chance for the Deaf community to stand proud and to celebrate their language and culture. It also helps to break down barriers, fears and misconceptions. NZSL Week also gives us a chance to learn more sign language.
